The Mostly Side Lying Neck Workshop

The Mostly Side Lying Neck Workshop

Presented by Alex Susbauer, LMT, BCSI of IBMT

Having been forced by injury to make some significant changes to my style of bodywork, I’ve discovered that it is possible to not only do effective work on the neck in the sidelying position, but that the side lying position affords a unique access point to allow manual therapy that can’t be done as easily or effectively in other positions.

We will first take a tour of the anatomy of the neck to get a deeper understanding of where and how we will be working. Then we will explore the possibilities that the side lying position can offer Integrative Manual Therapy. Highlights include cleaning the splenius pocket, eye engagements to release the suboccipitals, and a safe, effective way to work with the anterior cervical muscles.

While this workshop is designed to stand on its own, it is a great complement to the IBMT Workshops involving the Torso, Neck, and Shoulders.

This workshop is part of a series of “Deep Dive” Workshops held by Alex in his studio space in Mt Tabor. As such, space is limited to 8 students.
