ALL ABOUT TENDONS (AND FASCIA TOO)
4 Contact Hour CEs, NCBTMB Approval Pending
$100
The world of fascia has expanded greatly in the last decade and our understanding of how our fascia works has changed dramatically in that time. This workshop is designed to distill much of my own personal research into tendons and fascia into a succinct, manageable and useful form. We will examine current understanding of tendons and fascia and look at treatment options including physical therapy, Structural Integration, bodywork and massage. We will also examine tendons and fascia in a wholistic setting by looking at lifestyle and nutrition factors (please note that I am not a nutritionist and will not be dispensing nutrition advice). We will look at how the choices we make about our body affect the way that fascia and tendons form-so vitally important for those of us who make our living using our bodies!
This workshop will leave you with a better understanding of some of the anatomy and physiology of tendons and fascia in the hopes that this will inform your choices in your own life and practice of bodywork. We will explore treatment options available to massage therapists but also make you aware of treatment options that can be pursued through physical therapy and other disciplines.
This workshop will be mostly informational but there will be a small segment of bodywork techniques to complement the instruction.
This workshop is part of a series of “Deep Dive” Workshops held by Alex in his studio space in Mt Tabor. As such, space is limited to 8 students.
